Help me prepare for the return of mink-man

so on a pm to minkman he told me that he was looking forward to the first thread he makes upon his return and expects to get many thanks for it.

What is the big deal with him?
why is he so loved by everyone here?

I saw the thread he got banned for and didn't think much of it,
besides that is he actually very astute and insightful in a James Richardson meets sid lowe up a dirty alley kind of way?
