Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Am I the only one just slightly peeved that the head;ines are still about that scouse so and so when one of Englands oldest club is tethering on the brink?

Im anything but bitter, Id hate to see Everton FC sold to nameless yanks who cant understand the game and havent a clue whats going on 80% of the time.

and yanks who most certainly have no idea what play pay up pompey means...

Is it just me who can see the irony in you posting about someone not understanding what " pay up " means?

Welcome to the modern world. Celebrity trumps history every time.

Why post in the thread if you don't care?

It's been a short time in the making which makes the impending doom of Pompey even sadder.

These guys won the FA Cup FFS

Yeah, on money they didn't have. They're paying the price now for it.

Harry Redknapp, through his uncontrolled spending habits, played a huge part himself in f*cking over the two biggest clubs on the south coast.

Reading the sports media you would barely know this, as the many spivs who work in that profession love defending their pin up managerial boy!

Just hope for the good Spurs fans out there, that they don't feel the curse of 'Arry' in the coming years!

Don't be so bitter. It's not his fault he was given the money.

Not bitter. He just has an uncanny habit of ruining clubs stability, and getting out at the right time! Not nice to dodge your taxes either.

Harry spent the money he was given every cent just like he is at spurs the difference being the chairman Levy knows what the club can afford and won't hedge our bets on being in the champions league every year by buying big. I wasn't aware that he spent much money at southampton though.

The only other thing that needs to be pointed out is it was mostly caused by the wages of the players a 20,000 seater stadium can't afford to pay for the calibre of player they had at the club

Aye but they wouldn't have if they didn't spend the money. Can't say they weren't a successful side when it came to trophies. They won't be the last to be in this financial situation though.

Not just the stadium capacity, they also had scarcely any corporate ticket income and very little international recognition for selling merchandise.

being a portsmouth fan i'm shocked at this at the moment, i'm hoping the ex chairman will cop on and agree to the original conditions that he signed/agreed too.

I said in another thread about the Pompey saga that this was better than a soap,
im now wondering and worrying is this the day this soap is about to be cancelled.

    I'm hoping they continue.
