betting on the river leads to the show down, A says to be have you an ace, B nods his head and shows A the ace, but he only shows the ace to A not to the dealer or the rest of the table. A says 'thats pretty sick', and shows kings face up to the table. B agrees and throws his cards in the muck awaiting to take the pot.
who does the pot go to since the dealer hasn't seen the ace?

The pot would go to B as long as A says he saw the hand obv. If A said he didn't see the hand then someone else at the table had to see it for it to be classed as tabled and therefore "live". If no-one else saw the hand then A could win the pot on the technicality of having, the only "live" hand.
However, in this instance if B's cards are retrievable from the muck then I would retrieve them and award the pot to the best hand.
    C :)

imo, B never tabled the hand and its now in the muck. A could claim the pot, but most likely would allow it to be awarded to B on the basis he saw the ace. But the would only be on 'morality' grounds Id say

In my opinnion if A tries to claim the pot here he would be guilty of cheating of the sort that should be wiped out of our game . As in snooker and golf, players should take responsibility for there actions on the table and not, looking for angles to take pots that are not RIGHTLY theres
