    Hi folks,

My 2000 reg 1 litre Seat Ibiza seems to be sounding a little bit...well, listen and see what you make for yourself!

    http://www.filexoom.com/showfile-16667/sound_clip_06.mp4

It usually is only this bad when started from cold, and a slight tick occurs even if started from warm. The car was serviced last week, and the noise was there before that.

Anything I should be worried about?

Thanks for all the replies in advance & a happy new year to everyone on Motors! :)

p.s. apologies about the wait for the file, the joys of not paying for the service! :P

I would guess (and I stress the word guess) that one of your injectors isn't working properly any more.

Who did the service and did you point out your concern to them?

    Thanks for the reply!

I got my service done by an agent for Allied Irish Windscreens in Limerick when I was getting my windscreen replaced. Stupidly, I didnt point that out to them because it didnt seems as bad as it is now with the cold weather!

Is that an expensive job, if true?

get a proper (diesel) mechanic to stick his ear in, he should know what is or isn't up ...take it from there then.

could have sticky valves or a dirty injector.... either way the engine needs a good internal clean !
