A guy just drove by with his horn blaring. The fog is so thick a cars lights disappear within 30 meters and there is ice on the road. Arragh enough is enough!!

Melanoma, could you kindly insert your location into your profile so we all know on the weather forum where your weather report is being made? Thanks. Same goes for anyone else (although I don't see many other locations missing).

-4c fog has lifted and the skies are clear. The roads like an ice rink, hardly any traffic moving

It was -10 in Saggart last night at 10.30pm.:D
I've never known it to be so cold although I'm only living in the area about 5 yrs. It was absolutely freezing this morning when I left!

Drove along the canal into the city centre and it was completely frozen over. There were shopping trolleys and traffic cones on the surface of the canal.

A surreal sight was at Portobello bridge where there was about 50 swans with their heads completely submerged in the canal!! They were literally stuck in the frozen canal!! Wish I had a camera to take a pic!!

Watched the weather report last night and it looks like Ireland particularly Leinster is due a fairly major snowfall on Sunday!! God knows what drama that'll bring.....I left work (Dublin 1) at 2.45pm on Wednesday and arrived home at 6.50pm..absolute nightmare but others were longer getting home so can't complain too much I suppose:)

-4c in the car here in Limerick City, -3 on the Lidl thermometre hanging outside the West facing window of the house.

The swans were dead?? That is absolutely shocking, I can't believe nobody was tasked with their welfare.

Well, the first hints of the true easterly coming in here. Powerful looking dusty orange/blue sky with a thickening haze. Just to beautiful to express logically. -2.1c.

Positively TROPICAL here in Limerick on the Lidl Thermometre outside our bedroom window.

    A mere -7C and a tad frosty :D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 148 ✭✭Drummer Mummer

Snow has stopped now and wind has picked up now from the north. The snow was more rain and sleet than powdery snow. Skies are clearing and the sun is coming out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Overcast with a few flecks of snow in the air.

been snowing pretty heavily all morning in Dublin 16.. probably 3-4 inches I'd say has eased off now but still coming down slightly..absolutely no car tracks out of the estate so not sure how bad the secondary roads are especially with less traffic on them ..AND less gritters...

just woken up to a winter wonderland!!! clouds have just become very dark, but the snow is only a drizzle really now. bring on lots of snow :D
Idiots speeding up and down the roads no change with that then.

Pretty heavy fall in D 14. went out in the car earlier and it was bloody tricky and Im on a main road that was gritted(once ), looking into side roads the use of a snowmobile would be advised.
