Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem re-installing Windows!! Please help..

I have a Fijitsu Siemiens L7320 which and I'm trying to re-install Windows XP because of viruses and stuff. I have the original Windows XP disc which seems to be working fine.. When I run the disc it loads and asks if I want a complete installation etc., i enter the serial no and the re-installations start. This works away fine for a couple of minutes until the laptop tries to restart itself - it restarts ok and then I get a message asking if I want to boot from CD? If I ignore this Windows loads and asks if I want to run XP setup or Start Windows Home Edition. If I choose XP setup, the screen goes black like its loading but nothing happens!!! I've also tried going into boot menus f12 and stuff but most of the keys I need F2, F8 etc. will not work!

Anyway, I'm just wondering is this down to a virus on the laptop that has made it difficult for me to re-install Windows?? I would have thought this was unlikely, but it seems strange that every key I need will not work!

Another problem I have is, I did manage to run the 'Upgrade' last night which seems to have deleted the drivers?? I installed the drivers cd that came with the laptop, but it still starts like its in Safe Mode..

The laptop doesn't belong to me, so I'd prefer give it back in the same condition I got it (ie. not looking like it's in Safe Mode!!)

Hope somebody has the patience to read this.

    Thanks :)

lol,im confused now as to where youre at with the laptop, its booting now into windows but just looks like its in safe mode?

If thats the case, im presuming its not safe mode but that the drivers for the gfx card havnt been installed, is it slow/jerky moving windows when windows loads or is that fast enough? if its fast just change the resolution in the control panel, if its slow open up the system properties and look to see if it has an "!" or "?" for any of the hardware.

I havnt got XP installed on this rig so i cant give you the exact info to get the system properties open, i think its control panel/system then theres one of the tabs has a system properties button on it.

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means
