So TNA are basically doing what WCW did all those years ago by giving their prize match away on their weekly show, alá Hogan - Goldberg?

You could say that, but with all these returns, is this really the prize match anymore?

Probably Jeff vs AJ now tbh, although Jeff's intro doesnt seem to be anything got to do with AJ.

TNA have been doing this since day 1, and this is the sole reason why their PPV buys have been so bad and why they will remain the number 2 promotion.

While its great for me to see Angle v AJ etc on tv its damaging for TNA.

The sole reason is because they dont advertise correctly....not because they give away ppv matches....

WWE give away PPV matches for free more than TNA.. Hell they gave away the first ever match between Punk and Cena on Raw as a glorified squash

Nobody has linked to them so that is good but can people try to avoid talking about streams as unfortunatley its prohibited on here

not aiming that at anyone in particular, there are a lot of non regular posters tonight (this morning here) so decided to mention it.

Agreed, but WWE might do that once in a feud and more often than not they pit feuding stars against each other for free as part of tag team matches, handicap matches etc. TNA have sometimes replicated an up coming PPV event two week running.

I'm not dissing the talent i'm dissing the booking.

Seriously, what is with the commercials on TNA tonight? Is it always this bad?

    That was truly outstanding.

As someone who is on the fence about TNA it didn't make me want to watch the next show. AJ Vs Kurt delivered but promised Full metal mayhem and barb wire but didn't happen. Along with all those backstage segments that didn't seem to mean anything (Strip poker with Val?) and nods back to 1997 WCW Sting is in the rafters. For a three hour show everything felt rushed and the less said about those damm adds the better. 5 hour engery drink.

+1 Bravo TNA that was a serious step up

I watched the first hour before switching to RAW.

The first hour was just like every Impact.

A bad gimmick match that ended in a no contest and a run in, lots of useless backstage segments a championship match that was won with a roll up and some more backstage crap.

The second hour then started with Hogan coming out to a slightly (very slightly) modified nWo theme at which point I switched over to watch Bret on Raw.

I'll watch the rest tomorrow, but I'm sure there were quite a few people who decided they'd give the first hour a chance before dismissing it or switching to Raw. I'd say that first hour did more damage to TNA than good.

I watched the first hour of Impact and kept my eye on it for most of the night. Here are my random thoughts:

    - TNA threw everything they could at the wall tonight hoping something would stick. To me Hardy, Hogan and Flair is one thing but Val Venis, Orlando Jordan, the Nasty Boys etc..... just weren't needed and made the show feel a little too like it was 1999 again.

    - I loved the build up to Hogans debut.

    - There seemed like there was way too much tlaking in the first 2 hours of the show.

    - The amounts of ads was very frustrating.

    - AJ and Angle looked amazing.

I loved the tna show it def outclassed wwe if you ask me

and why call brett the guest host?he did nothing as a guest host other than run promos about when he got screwed.

on a side note as much as i enjoyed tna the stars they brought in is meh

flair, what can he do?hogan what can he do?nasty boys and scott hall what can they do?

other than val venis and xpac and they are the only ones who can do some in ring work to impress the fans.

but def hands down i enjoyed tna more tonight had me on my feet.

i thought TNA was great,it was like the old nitro days were anything can happen at any moment and AJ Vs Angle whoa WHAT A MATCH

2 amazing wrestlers put on a show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭Vince135792003

I hope they do a great rating. Tonight was fun.

We'll see what kind of an indicator Twitter trends are because TNA is flying on it.

I'm not a pro WWE fan but that comment was just stupid. TNA tonight had Scott Hall, X-Pac, Val Venis, Hulk Hogan, The Nasty Boys, Kevin Nash, etc the list goes on.

I'm shocked they actually got Jeff Hardy

Is he back full time to TNA or just for one night?

I'm guessing full time, but his court case is coming up soon so who knows what'll happen with that.

I'm shocked too. I really didn't think he would show up on TNA. I can see how a lighter work schedule and stuff would be a bonus, but he was one of the top guys in WWE when he left, and he could have gotten a better deal with WWE to allow him more time off. Now he's kind of in a midcard fued if he stays in TNA. Desmond Wolf was thrown straight into a fued with Angle, pretty much their top guy, and Jeff Hardy is a much bigger draw

Have to say fair play to TNA. Can't wait to see what the ratings were

I think they're gonna give him a match against A.J, His match was legendary last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,083 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

Judging by what I've read in this thread, I don't think I'll bother watching the rest of Impact today.

I'll just do what I normally do, watch any match that people have said was good and ignore the rest.
