    Hi All,
I was recently in Japan and bought a specialist kettle but I'm unsure how to get it working in Ireland due to the voltage difference. The kettle is 100v 800w 50/60hz so if anyone could point me in the way of an adapter that would suit I'd be most appreciative.

Also considered just getting the element rewired. Anyone have any ideas if this is (i) possible (ii) expensive?

    Thanks

a 110v site traffo mite be your answer without rewiring and everything. if the kettle has electronics etc in it u mite have problems but if its just a switch and the element it mite be the answer

someone might fit a new element,

i think you might struggle to get a tidy traffo to handle 800W, the large ones used on sites might be the best bet as most of the smaller plug in units i have seen wont supply more than 300W, so a new element would be best IMHO.

you can get tidy traffos but if the install was to be permenant the traffo could be placed else where and a supply ran to the kettles location or existing cabling used possibly
