Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nope. Spain works on the head to head record which means Barca stay top regardless of a Real victory. Bolton made the same mistake on Sky also.

100% I am correct as thats how Real won la liga about 2-3 years ago.

Look here at the 06/07 table and see how not just Real but other teams level on points are ahead of certain teams even though they have an inferior goal difference.

I see, cant say i've noticed that before, thanks!

Seems a better system alright, the football fan in me tells me they should introduce that in the premier league, the Man United fan in me tells me they shouldnt, not this season anyway! :D

While nothing you have said above is incorrect, I am pretty certain that the head to head thing does not kick in until after 2nd games have been played. Silly and all as that sounds, I think Real will indeed go top should they win against Osasuna.

So basically Real Madrid can win games 16 - 18 and be top. Win game 19 and be demoted to 2nd! (presuming Barca keep winning) So the criteria to determine league position in la liga changes after the 18th game of the season  That is the most ridiculous system I have ever heard of in world football.

P.S. Cheers for pointing that out brother. You live and learn.

    Yep,

I've been impressed with Bilbao this season. It looked like they were in trouble for a few seasons. 27 pts is a good return so far.

How do you guys rate Llorente?

Hugely important player for Bilbao, without him they probably would've gotten relegated last season.

    He is class.

Needs to move to a bigger club in my opinion.

    Very impressive last season.

    Agree, very good player.

Have said for a while that I'd like to have him at Utd.

His height and strength would be all very much in his favour with England in mind.

Christ, Mallorca up to 4th. Some season they are having so far. I enjoyed the last 30 minutes of that.

Yea 4th place seems up for grabs this season. Should be an intersting 2nd half of the season.

Mallorca are an awesome team at home, its like other clubs dont like playing on the island!

Whats up with Iker and the orange socks ?

    Never seen that keepers kit.

He usually has blue or yellow.

Thought it was the black away shirt but that does not have orange on it.

    Christ this game is boring.

Watching this game, its alot of typical Higuain. He reminds me of Torres. Fast, willing to work and can finish but slack, slack passing and not much of a brain.

    What a dive from Ronaldo.

    Pure blatant.

Cant believe the ref saw it and didnt card him.

I read it before, it's awful, much like his dead balls. I always laugh at people claiming how good he is when he cannons 99 out of 100 into the wall.

A bit like Roberto Carlos used to be, sh1t at free kicks but can live off one of the very est you will see for at least a season (Carlos v France, Ronaldo v Portsmouth)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,476 ✭✭✭✭Ush1

All Higuain had to do was square that to Benz...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,246 ✭✭✭Mgoraf

    Higuain ya idiot!

Hopefully Benzema can do us a favour but I doubt it <_<

This slip up is gonna come back to bite Madrid in the arse.

Missed a Golden opportunity with Barca dropping points last night.

    Poor game.

Aye, regular enough at games in Spain.

Especially the Camp Nou you usually spot some.

There is always a bloke in the Indar Gorri end in el Sadar right behind the goal forever holding up a tricolour.
