    Hey guys,

    I found this stuff on the CrossFit message board and thought I'd post it up here. It's a program called Kinovea, it allows you to track the path of the barbell during your lifts. I understand this will be of little consequence to most people but the geek in me found it really cool. Plus it has some applications for training the oly lifts without having to shell out on Dartfish.

    I tried it on a few oly vids I have on my PC but seeing as the copyright issues are sketchy I decided to only upload the crappy ones involving yours truly. Keep the abuse of me to a minimum, I realise the videos are crap but they're from ages ago (I haven't gotten better) and I've nothing else.

    Sorry for the quality and having to tilt your head but I can't figure out how to rotate .3gp without converting it. Anywho, just thought I'd post it up for anyone who's interested.

    Open the video in Kinovea, fast-forward to the frame you want to start the trajectory from. Select a cross marker from the menu and place it on the end of the barbell (personally my vids were so bad I needed something with better contrast so I went for the clip). Then right click on the marker and click start trajectory. Then play the video and it should work.

    According to the message board I found it off the trace feature is better on the 8.something beta version but I'm not fond of installing unstable releases on my machine.
