Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

eh?keeper got his hand to it,was poor finish,he sent it to the side the keeper commited himself to,rather than the other way.

Bit late to replay to this but, you want him to shoot to a side that would have put himself off balance

Can I just ask how that isn't a yellow card? If someone was not-as-late as that with a tackle on the ground and made that much contact it would be.

Vela has been Man of the Match for me by a mile.

He's caused West Ham serious problems down that side all day and finished the game with two assists.

    He deserves a goal

    West Ham look wrecked.

Diaby and Nasri changed the game.

he shot to the keepers side that the keeper commited himself to.how would he be off balance?he was straight in on the goal,no one else around him..ye bit late for that now seeing the arsenal are in control.

2-1 will do nicely although West Ham deserve a draw imo.

Teams who play with a tempo that they are not accustomed to like West Ham have today generally fade in the end.

Arsenal's fitness and the added impetus of Diaby and Nasri off the bench has saved the day for them.

    Its all Arsenal now!

Good come back from Arsenal, West Ham have only themselves to blame, they had a really good spell for first 20 mins of second half but couldn't get the second or even third they should have. Ran themselves into the ground to turn it into a good tie, Arsenal needed to empty the bench to turn it around.

Don't agree with Ramsey as MOM.

    Vela has been outstanding

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭ragg

Arsenals young players are a different class - compare these to the new breed of united players on display today.
The difference is unbelievable, they are streets ahead. Wenger really is building something special IMO

Do you know Green actually had "England's Number 6" printed on his gloves for the last couple of seasons? And it was sung to him by our own fans regularly?

    West Ham getting battered now.

Hard to pick a MOTM as Arse were awful in the first half.

    Good shout actually.

Although he's faded big time in the second half, but yeah, he should edge Vela

    great match considering,

it would have been a big ask to expect Arsenal to play as fluid/flashy/forceful as Chelsea this afternoon but some guile was surely shown

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Lol at that, Diamanti just pushed Vela from behind

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

That was hilarious, most obvious push in the back you'll ever see, ref 4 yards away, no free kick. :pac:

Well, an interesting enough match in the end, although it had some dire patches in it.

I must say I disagree with a lot of the analysis here, WHU did not deserve to win that match. Yes they worked hard, but despite Arsenal's forwards being so off the pace their defence looked shaky, their midfield worked hard but were unimaginative, and their fowards, while good on the ball, made some absolutely appalling decisions around Arsenal's box, and really wasted some fantastic opportunities. I know they are missing C.Cole, but you don't win matches being as wasteful as they were.

As for Arsenal, surprised at people saying Ramsey or Vela deserved MoM. Ramsey, while good in the first and last quarters, was anonymous for long periods in between. And Vela, while he was great at getting in behind the West Ham defence, he didn't absolutely nothing right on the ball but the cross for Eduardo. Still, it's great to see that they can still be match winners while their general play was so average, sign of champions that :D

As for the rest of the team, I thought Arsenal looked very tired. Particularly Song and Gallas, who both seemed to stand off their players much more than usual, although Song did look bright at the end when they were attacking so much. Still, i hope the ANC doesn't f*ck him up, it's a rest he needs.

So, to sum up, 2-1, just about the fair result imo. While WHU worked hard, Arsenal could have scored a lot more in those last few minutes. WHU really dropped off and were punished for it.
