    Anyone any tips/recs on good sites along east coast which might be worth a visit, between Brisbane and Cairns?

    Read some very offputting stuff in Rough Guide:eek:

    I know you can camp for 5 dollars on whitehaven beach (the best beach in Australia) but it costs about 100 bucks to get the boat out there then another 100 to the next island. Ask around in Airlie beach. Plus buy your camping gear here , just to have a day out in Rays outdoors or anaconda
