This is how much a teacher is paid http://www.asti.ie/pay-and-conditions/pay/salary-scale/

This link explains where you start on the scale http://www.asti.ie/pay-and-conditions/pay/incremental-credit/

I think the amount of hours you work, would also have a bearing on it.

Very few people get full-time jobs straight off, most people end up doing a good few years subbing or on short hour contracts. We have a number of people on our staff who are on 3-hour contracts.

AFAIK the PE teaching course is in UL.

You can also do PE teaching DCU, look at this link:
    http://www.dcu.ie/prospective/deginfo.php?classname=PE&mode=full .

In all of the PE teaching courses you must study another subject such as English, Irish or Biology. You'd best check the individual prospectuses or www.qualifax.ie .

    Money isn't everything you know.

    Money isn't everything you know.

Yet for some bizarre reason most people wouldn't enter a course without having some idea of the payscales of their prospective job. Not a very helpful post.

If you are considering a "carrer" in teaching then you'd best avoid teaching English as s subject eh?

I think the OP said PE Teaching. They're well known for their lack of intelligence!

A good point. But if you're doing a course with a specific career outcome you're more likely than not to try and find out what you will be paid in that career. Makes sense really.

    Or maybe a typo?

Really? And given that you obviously aspire to a far higher level of intellectual discourse, you will no doubt be able to cite the research studies which demonstrated this inalienable truth to the masses?
