Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi,

Daughter age 21 thinking of getting her first car. She has 3 years experience as named driver on my policy.
Budget €4k.
Primary use is city driving and home at weekends equal to 90 mile round trip.
Recommend one or two makes and models which could be had in nice condition for €4k. Obviously running costs need to be as low as possible. So thinking of low as possible road tax classification, and fuel economy, as well as general maintenance costs.
What fits that bill?

Ford Ka, basic, reliable and cheap but they also have very good road manners and are very stable for such a small car.

yaris! great car. reliable and holds its value pretty well. insurance will be dead cheap too. over all excellent small car.
