Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jump Starting - Radio Question.

Yet another question related to jump starting!

My wifes car was left standing for the last couple of weeks (silly of me I know!) and naturally the battery was low this morning and the car wouldn't turn over.

There was enough power for lights etc (checked to see if it was completely flat) but obviously not enough current to start the car.

Jump started it this evening using the correct technique without any issues except the radio code (which I had to hand anyway).

My question is why does the radio lose the code during a jump start when the battery was not completely flat? If the battery was completely flat I could understand it but it was working prior to the jump start and then required the code afterwards.

    Just wondering.

I'd say trying to start the car drained the battery of any remaining power it had, and lights etc would have had an effect on battery. Would the radio be a ford by any chance?

Maybe it did but it had plenty of power (just prior to the jump start) to check the lights etc - just not enough to start the car. I really dont think it was flat as such. Curious.

The radio is in a Honda.
