I can confirm snow in Donabate but extremely light just now; based on what we've heard from Drogheda and Dundalk there's more to come.

Dont say that about TV! The Jeremy Kyle Show is starting soon and I'm wondering should I go watch it (and witness fine displays of humanity) or, stay here and witness fine displays of, well......insanity!

I currently can't remember for the life of me where I read or heard this, but it was that a raindrop is more reflective of the doppler radar, perhaps because of density of actual H2O molecules etc, but anyway the snowflakes being bigger compensated for it.

Effectively, radar-measured reflection strengths of snow precipitation are similar to rain ppn reflected intensities. Apologies for not being able to give a source right now.

Any further comments on the comma low / mess to the north of Scotland??

Thanks for that info, that question was at the back of my mind for a while, always got distracted before googling it :)

As for the mess...it's becoming a bigger mess...which is good ;)
