Are we in Clane Co Kildare likley to see any snow tonight????
Not likely Holly but not impossible either

Its amazing watching all the main cloud and precipitation returns showing the cloud heading directly for us and then it just seems to skirt around the outline of Ireland. Its like you can see the outline of the Hibernian snowshield deflecting these fronts as they approach the island.

I could swear I just saw a flash of lightning out the window about a minute ago. Might be imagining it though. If it was, it would be slightly north of east of Howth. Also, i can hear the sea very loudly here and I am the guts of 2kms from where the waves would be crashing. Wind must be going to get bad so.

    thundery showers were forcast.

Think we will, but how much is anyone's guess. The more easterly that wind blows the better I think!

    Kilkenny City outskirts..

    Temperature: -3.2 °C
    Dew Point: -3.5 °C

Woke to a thin covering of snow this morning, which hasn't melted in many places. Main roads are fine, but some of the small roads are treacherous. If it snows again tonight it'll be fun tomorrow.

Looking at that, there is a LOT of potential in the Irish sea..

Are you sure that's the latest sat pic SC? If it is, it looks very clear over southern UK, where they are getting a dumping atm?
