Can someone tell me if that wexford blizzard is on it's way up north to dublin??
    I'd like an answer!

I really don't see how it could be given the wind direction. We're hoping the wind goes round to north-easterly (as forecast) and blows the showers ashore.

OK people. Been at the Christy Moore gig in Vicar Street.

Can someone bring me up to speed on what’s been happening?

    No.
Dublin is missing out because the airflow is NNE and never went NE as forecasted.

That band of precip out in the Irish Sea associated with the low in the UK seems to be getting better organised, notice how the line of precip is now in a more defined curve even above Anglesey. Getting closer and closer to SE coast.

BTW, here are some translations for words used by Irish people to describe wintry weather.

    Irish description - translated:

    Sleet - rain
Sleet mixed with Snow - Sleet
    Light Snow - Sleet
    Heavy Snow - Sleet
    Blizzard - Light Snow
    Whiteout - Moderate Snow
Thundersnow OR 'Jaysus, Tis Bucketing' - Sleet, probably rain

I hope the easties get a Whiteout tonight:p

    LOL :D

And if we do get a Blizzard or a Whiteout ... reported snow depths should be converted according to this chart...

    Centimetres - Millimetres
    Inches - Centimetres
    Feet - Inches

wow ye have managed to add about 700+ posts since i was here last.... and yet none of ye managed to send a huge blizzard to North Leitrim  ah well ;)

From the couple of charts posted that i looked back on, doesn't look like any more for us here, so going to get shut eye, will have to make it to work tomorrow... dang... had a walk outside, starry starry night, frost but not as hard a freeze as other nights...

enjoy the snow ye lucky devils...
