its very marginal Pangea. If the system moves too far inland it will drag some higher maritime temps in leading to rain/sleet (lowground) and snow (above 200-300m) on westernseaboard and snow about 30-50 miles inland. The latest UKMO has upgraded the system to the point that it will affect as much as the western third of the country with the eastern edge of this affected section most likely to get snow.

ME are being relatively cautious and rightly so as a slight change to the scandanavian high pressure system could nudge that system westwards or allow it to move closer to Ireland.

The potential for snowfall in the west/NW from this system has existed since Saturday. I have a feeling it will cause some disruption in western parts tomorrow and ME will reflect this possibility in tonight's forecast.

Sun is still shining here, but there is a lot of high cloud pushing in from the east and a few very fine flakes being blown in the breeze. That is all we will get I'd say.

Yeah if she is hungry later I'll cook her something :P

Any inroads of the snow in to Laois, particularly around Mountmellick/Portarlington areas?
