Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lucky he didn't have terrorist connections.

yeah, phew, considering he didn't even know he had it in his luggage. we really got lucky.

4oz of explosives isn't hard for any terrorist to get a hold of, holding out for someone to hide it in the luggage of someone you have connections to isn't a likely strategy.

Good God man, haven't you read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? There's a whole chapter devoted to their evil scheme to blow lumps off the coastline of Ireland so the island ends up resembling the Star of David. This will be visible from space and will be the signal for the lizard invasion fleet to attack. More here.

I hope this Slovakian guy takes his government/airport security people to court for causing him this hassle. Why couldn't they have sent their own security people rather than using unwitting passengers?

If the Garda that arrested him was female and anything like my wife, she'd have wanted to give him 20 years for failing to unpack his bags for so long after he arrived home. I mean how could he leave his bags still packed for more than a day?!? Really he should be thrown out for being plain untidy!!!! Thats the real crime here. I hope he got his smalls washed in Slovakia before coming home.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the solicitors office tomorrow.

    - I want to sue someone, can you help?

    * Certainly sir.. Who would you like to sue?

    - Slovakia

    * Huh??!

just as well he was only flying as far as dublin, could you imagine if he was getting a connecting flight to the USA , he would most likely be down in guantanamo bay locked a way forever, with nobody knowing his whereabouts!!!

Damn it Jason Bourne has lost his memory again. I told him to go to Iceland.

He would have, too, only Kerry Katona would have pestered him for his autograph!

According to witnesses in Schipol Airport Amsterdam the underwear bomber was taken through customs and check in without a passport by a 'sharp dressed man'. Now, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand that anyone escorting a Nigerian man, who has been tagged as a 'terrorist suspect', without documentation, onto a flight destined for the US, is a spook. Then the fake attempt to blow up the plane by lighting his underpants! Oh come on! They said the explosive he had was PETN, which is liquid, so what was the 'powder' he was trying to light? Baby powder?

RDX, C4, Semtex and other plastique burns fine but will not explode even if you throw it in a fire and shoot it. Powdered explosive like AnFO is the same. Lighting them is a waste of time without a detonator.

And yet we are now being told we will have to submit to more security because of these obviously staged events. More body scans and pat down searches. So how much extra will all the body scan machines cost and what is their effect on our health? This is just fascism. More laws and 'security' while the real enemy is the one created by those taking away our freedoms. It's Animal Farm all over. The ficticious external enemy that insures we feel afraid and turn to our leaders to save us. And funny enough they just have the laws and machines to do that.

So it was ZZ Top all along?

Draw up invasion plans. The sleeping emerald giant shall arise and smite all that cross her.

A lot of chatter on the net from conspiracy theorists that this was a false flag bombing attempt!

Apparently you dont need a detonator to explode this stuff and the slovaks waited days before telling anyone about it

Given that it's a criminal offence to import this stuff you expect a bit more than wanting a full report. It's probably not a coincidence that they picked one of the only non NATO countries in europe for these shenanigans

We should carpet their ambassador in the full glare of the media for a start. Then haul every passenger that arrives here on a flight from slovakistania off to the quiet room to have their bags throughly rummaged through. Keep that up for a few months just for effect.

Then launch a criminal investigation and tell the slovakians that we'll be expecting their full cooperation in extraditing and banging up a few of their security buckos.

Y'know just let them know that this **** will most definitely not fly..literally.

FALSE. You could burn tis stuff, and it wouldn't blow up. You need to detonate it.

I think at the very least they should be presented with the financial bill for the security operation as well as closing a main Dublin street for the duration.

And of course some sort of compensation and new pair of underwear for the 49yo Slovakian.

Suppose it could have been worse. Imagine they had put it in the luggage of a random black guy?

It seems the dude at the centre of all of this is going to decline to sue (Indo). Imagine living in our country for four years and not adapting one of our cherished traditions, our delightful compo culture .
With all the big shots behaving so badly, it's good to see one of us regular Joe Sixpacks showing a bit of class. Good for you Stefan .
