Is anyone surprised yet that the government haven't announced that they will :

    1. set up a committee to investigate how the roads were not gritted/salted properly

    2. set up a task force to visit other countries to monitor and learn how they deal with a "heavy snowfall" ?

    3. create a committee to prepare an anti-winter/bad weather strategy.

one or all at the cost of the taxpayer !

No sir, not one bit surprised.

    Why am I not surprised???

Because nobody cares what happens from Dec 23rd to around Jan 04th.

Everybody has pissed off and couldn't give a bollix.

Whole country shuts down, certainly on New Years Eve, you won't get gritters/sanders taxis/ busses bugger all especially if there is a bit of snow.

Take it from me that unless you are extremely naive, you will get nothing, zilch, nada, null, in that period.

    Check it out.

Did ye not see The Day After Tomorrow ?
That is what will happen that the Gulf Strem will divert and ireland will be like New Foundland.
So look at the plus points we will have ski resorts on Mt Errigal and Croak Patrick, sorry scrub that on Nephin since Croak Patrick is too religous.

    Note to self:
start investing in land around vilages with possible ski resort potential, the next bubble ;)

I am not allowed discuss …

What was wrong with the work done?
    Why are you anti-winter?

You realise this is the worst winter in 30 years? its not a normal winter and planning to deal with this every year is pointless and expensive.

    What haven't you ?
Fecks sake you live in Donegal
BTW it could be the Yellowstone Park caldera going up, the volcano on Gran Palma blowing half the island into the Atlantic, or the meteorite that is currently heading this way that gets us in the end.
Oh God I forgot about an Outbreak of eboli

    PS sarcasm above :p
BTW you did spend long time in US did you not ?

Whole country paralysed and you wonder what's wrong???

Maybe if the operatives who should be gritting the roads got out of Downeys you might get something done.

Can't figure out how you think that the reaction to a tiny bit of snow and ice is adequate.

This thread isn't going anywhere useful. While the opening post doesn't offer much (as what may be a double criticism or a non-specified choice between 2), almost all of the successive posts suck usefulness from the galaxy.

Not here please. "Contributors" to this thread, kindly take note.
