This should be an intriguing tie with 3rd going up against sixth.

Both teams are having magnificent seasons so far and are probably surprising everybody. David Silva has been named in tonights Valencia squad so could mark his long awaited return to action. Most disappointing is that Alejandro Dominguez who recently signed fro Rubin Kazan wont make his debut. Villa and Joaquin should feature. Also look out for Guardado from Deportivo who is having a great season. He keeps it up and no doubt bids will come in the summer.

I aint watching on Sky HD. I am watching on Canal+ Liga HD (Spanish) but I presume its the same picture as Sky HD though. I was flicking between that and regular sky sports to compare and the difference was huge on my tv.

There is not a single team in Spain who can fill their stadium on a regular basis. Some come close to it like Valencia and Real Madrid. Recession hit Spain very hard. 20% unemployment so probably less folks going to games although its Little Xmas in Spain today.

Think Torres captained Athletico when he was nineteen. they seem to encourage young talent there which is good. But on offside Torres was followed a lot in the city.

According to Revista La Liga, they reckon Athletico are trying to get rid of Pablo, Forlan, Perea and Maxi - who is going to L'Pool.

Strange to see such a fall from grace. Reminds me of Sociedad being in the CL a few years back but obviously not as extreme.
