haven't had any problems but does anyone know how to access the cable modem to change settings/open ports?

My 2mb permanet connection has been slow since chrismas, support blamed it firstly on the weather and then on a network upgrade. does anyone have any info on what is really going on!. we have option of national broadband scheme.

I know my brother was having problems with his and they told him there was a problem with the tower at fort mountian witch they have now sorted I believe...
