Every time I reply to a thread (not that often as you can see) I seem to get automatically subscribed to that thread. Is this a setting I have to change?

    Thanks.

......or indeed, create a thread, as has happened here!

Sounds like you have automatic subscription turned on. To turn it off do the following:
    • Go to your User CP (far left of the bar at the top of the screen, just above the Post reply button)
    • On the left of the screen is the control panel. The third box down is Settings & Options. Under that, click on Edit Options.
    • On the screen that has just come up, the second box says Messaging & Notification. The second item in that box is Default Thread Subscription Mode.
    • In the drop down box, ensure you have Do Not Subscribe selected, and then click on Save Changes at the very bottom of the screen.

That should sort you out, but let me know if it doesn't.

You are a Gent (or Lady!!). That seems to have solved it. Thanks for your swift and comprehensive reply!
