    I got 600 points :) I am so happy! But I am a mature student and really nervous that I won't get enough points for previous learning, work experience etc to give me the total points needed for a place. Keeping fingers crossed though! :)

    There are places allocated for mature students, like NCAD is 50% secondary 50% mature. I dont know how it works for IADT. Well done you 600pts !

    Really? I'm not sure either :S I'm thinking them giving me the 600 points is how they let mature students in as opposed to my portfolio being all that good! lol Thanks :)

    510. I won't get in this year unless the points go down (which they almost certainly won't.)

    I know what I'm capable of getting in the leaving and it won't be enough.

    Even if the points didn't go up from last year I'd be screwed.

    Bollocks.

    Thanks! I am honestly thinking it's just the points they must give to mature students as opposed to my portfolio being that good! :S lol But I REALLY want a place! Here is to hoping we both get what we want! :) Good luck!

    (b) If you are a ‘Mature Student’, the CAO will add your portfolio scores above to the points allocated by IADT for prior learning, work experience etc.

    I'm wondering are the points for prior learning, work experience, included in the portfolio results?

    I really hope not.

    AFAIK a mature student can add 399 points to their portfolio score to get their total points.

    I very much doubt it (but it's always better to confirm directly with admissions).

    9 points.. Jeez that's painful. Things seemed to have worked out for ya in the long run anyway!

    Doin the LC this year yeah. Sounds like I'll be in a similar situation to you last year.

    No, I did a diploma course in film & media.
    I figured may as well get some form of piece of paper!

    I was utterly devastated when I didnt get in last year, but I’m actually happy that I have this diploma done. Much more confident going in now :)

    Hey, just curious.

    I got my portfolio results in the last week, 540 points, and i'm wondering if any one has any speculation on how high the points will be this year? I can't imagine they'd go over a thousand.. Right? Just wondering how worried I should be about my leaving cert I guess :P

    Hi, I got 540 too I'm really happy with that!
    I'm really hoping it doesn't go over 1000, I'm pretty sure last year it was around 920 so that would mean it would have to go up by around 80 points. That's a lot, though people are saying that all courses are set to go up a bit with so many people applying this year.
    I'd say aim for around 460 in your leaving? I know I'd be delighted with that anyway as I'm not the most academic....!

    Hi,

    Just wondering about the portfolio part of the course. I'm doing my portfolio at the min for the course. I'm kinda struggling at it though. I don't know what to do really for it. I've read the guidelines on the website, but I still have no ideas. Any guidelines for the portfolio? Can you do a short documentary instead of a short film? I really want to get into this course!
