what batteries for a Nikon coolpix camera?

The batteries that came with my camera are about to die, does anyone have any recommendations of what I can buy. The ones that are in it are not for retail sale apparently

What were they? AA? Alkaline? Assuming they were, get some rechargeable AA niMH (2700mAh or higher). They'll last long enough + save money (should cost under a tenner).
