Is it too early for another snow angel?

Haha yes just a tad:p, dropped about another inch on top of the frozen snow/ice here so far. Accumulating on everything for the first time here though (trees bushes etc.)

Pic: It's hard to capture how heavy it is

Fairly dark clouds heading for Dublin city centre, could be snow on the way soon if the clouds make it that far.

This surely must be a record for 9am. The mercury still appears to be dropping. Any particular reason for this? Is there freezing fog?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,947 ✭✭✭SuprSi

The sun illuminated this shower quite well on route.
You could get quite a bit out this.

Yes, it is. This is called inversion, very common in my country. It can be -15 on the ground, even if the temp at p850 is 0.... comes with the fog.

    ME:
"Sunday will be cold and mostly cloudy with occasional sleet and snow showers in the south and east, giving accumulations in places. Monday will be very cold again. It'll be a mostly cloudy day with frequent showers of sleet and snow in a strong easterly wind. Significant accumulations will occur and drifting is possible due to strong easterly winds. Apart from a few snow showers, Tuesday will be mostly dry but very cold in a strong east to southeast wind. "

Btw here is something funny for you to read... just imagine :Dhttp://www.meteoalarm.eu/area.asp?lang=EN&ShowDate=&Country=AT&area=3&areaname=

As far as I can see the lowest recorded temp in Ireland is -19.1.
Is there a chance we could have anew record soon?

We are not complaining; we are recording reactions..
And this is a "real cold winter" for Ireland..

Only ones obsessed are those demanding more and more snow.

    Where you been hiding?

Oh no. It's minus 273 degrees Kelvin.
All my electrons have stopped moving.

Seriously lads ye need to see a real cold winter and how people just get on without complaining. We are OBSESSED with weather in this country. :D
