Looks at that snow over Eastern England in pressures of around 1030mb

Tis a pretty weak affair, not likely to give much accumulation over a wide area.

Giving blizzards and many inches of snow to northeast England, it aint a weak affair to me!

    Retreated to bed..

NB empty bleach bottles make excellent hot water bottles. Make sure top is on tight... Parozone bottles too; any of the thick plastic.

Hit a record for my station last night of -6.0c. Its now -3.0c so think if it stays clear that record will be broken. I'm looking forward to the big event at the weekend. I'm praying it will be real proper snow and lots of it :)

Peter Avery had a lovely forecast on BBC1 at 6.30. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,431 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

After the break on the news mountain rescue prepare for a busy weekend.
Folks..please please please don't be that person that's stuck in the mountains because you didnt prepare adequately.

I have a foot of snow and I'm at 200 metres, I had about 100mm of sleet that fell before this..above 350 metres or so this was pure snow - there are MASSIVE depths of snow not high up, you will get in trouble really easily really fast if you are not prepared.

Go to Jonny Foxes, go to Glendalough, there is massive snow in these places and fairly safe.
Don't go up the mountains unless you really know what you are doing.

Are the BBC not leaning towards rain anymore so? i thought they believed it was gonna rain rather than snow over here or am i wrong?:)

I mean that the snow is not going to be as significant as ME and Sky are saying

If it's -14 in Tullow i wonder if that's the coldest place in Ireland or if there is somewhere else with further extremes that aren't being recorded.
