    Hi All,
Working from desktop at home, have a ZyXel modem working off a BT connection, wi-fi enabled. I want to connect work laptop to the wireless network (ZyXEL) that Modem already has in place.
I hooked up laptop directly, went to http://192.168.1.1, can see all the modem details, but the WEP is reading "Disable".
I went to network settings on the desktop, got the WEP that was in place, tried it on the laptop but no success.
I tried setting up a new network through the desktop, set-up a USB dongle, ran it through the laptop, but the new network isn't appearing in the wirless network.
Running out of ideas, any help?:(

Have you tried changing the wireless channel for the network?

Are there any work settings in place on the laptop that could be giving you problems?

When you say that you set up a usb dongle - has the laptop not got a built in wireless card already?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the answer was much simpler.
Just had to reset the router, use the default 1234 password on the router home page just as described here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055559836.
    Thanks again.....
