    News report frm Highland Radio

It’s been confirmed that there was a minor earthquake in Donegal last night, measuring 1.6 on the Richter Scale.
Last night, Highland Radio received a number of calls from Fanad and Inishowen claiming that people had heard what appeared to be a loud thunderclap followed by a tremor at around half past seven.
According to Thomas Blake of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, the epicentre of the event was in Bridgend.

    :)

Why not? It is Donegal after all :)

Maybe the earth moved for some, but there's just no pleasing some people.

Renault and Ford are working on a new small car for women.
They are mixing the Clio and the Taurus, and calling it the "<snip>."
It comes in pink, and the average male thief won't be able to find it, even
if someone tells him where it is.

Mod edit: family site and all that jazz but Im sure people can figure it out

They're making a car and calling it Claus. Kind of like Christmas. :D

    Sincere apologies.

    Just got a bit excited.

Anyway, what with earthquakes in Donegal and the north atlantic current shifting, I ask, is this the end of the world?

Answers please on a postcard to the postman in Donegal, he knew it was coming. All hail our new overlord.
And he's on the late late apparently tonight. Maybe he's going to announce his evil plans then.....

I heard a loud noise this morning around 7.30am which sounded like thunder in the Milford area. A workmate is after telling me that there have been reports on Highland Radio about it being a tremor!

I just heard the same thing via Facebook, apparently there were 2 different tremours

Hear it last night about 7.50pm, and I think I heard another about 7pm this evening, but I couldn't get the volume turned down on the telly quick enough.
Now sitting with the window slightly open and have located the mute button on the remote.:D

Seem to remember one that occured in Manorcunningham about 10 years ago, so theres obviuosly a fault line around the Swilly area.

The Gweebarra fault is the one causing this latest tremors, its outlined in red on the below map. There is also a few other faults, the Leannan fault running from Manor down to Donegal Bay that has produced a few tremors. All the faults are marked in Black in the below map.

Very interesting, but they seem to have built the new Harry Blaney bridge right smack bang on top of that Gweebarra fault line. :)
