Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trying to find the name of late 80's / early 90's game

    Hi All,
Have been trying to find out what game this is for years and hoping someone might know what I'm talking about!!

It was a single screen, platform game, and was for either the Commadore 64 or Atari!

I know that I had it around the time of Rainbow Island but not sure what year it was.

Basically, the character is a sort of fat/roundish man who wears a purple cape and black eye mask thing. Same sort of lay out as Bubble Bobble, but not that, nor was it Bomb Jack, which is also similar.
Baddies fall out of the sky - Think they were like hot air balloons with faces in the baskets or something like that, and you had to collect fruit.

I don't even know what the objective was, although they rarely had one in those days!

This is driving me absolutely mad! I can't find it anywhere on the net and nobody knows what I'm talking about. I'm beginning to doubt if it even existed at this stage!

Sorry if the description in a bit vague... that's all I've got!

Hopefully someone can shed some light!!

    Thanks in advance!! :D

Was it Blobber, for the Commodore 64?

I was going to say Bombjacks but you said it wasn't. I'm racking my brains here because it seems to be familiar. All I'm getting is the original bomberman which is wrong.

Fair play! I was convinced he had just been playing Bomb Jack after too many pints or something.

I'm wasted on my chemistry phd :)

There were a good few seymour and super seymour games released that were budget rip offs of other games. Some of them were quite good though and cheap. If it isn't saves the planet it could be another super seymour game.

Okay i got one for Retro.

Its an Amstrad game, where you look like you are playing a Rat or a mouse thats a thief. Its a platform with different traps. The first level looks like a warehouse. It started right to left.

I can't remember whether the view was iosmetric or not.

I think we should start an Ask Retr0 sticky for all these type of questions :pac:

That sounds like one of the "Monty" games, maybe "Monty on the Run".

Ah for jaysus sake Gummy! I thought it was a really obscure game. Everyone knows the monty games, I never even thought of them because of that :)

No problem. As I'm sure you now realise, monty was a mole. That may have helped throw Retr0gamer off the scent. :)

Hey leds, anyone remember a C64 game where you flew a little pod/flying machine up through a series of rectangular rooms that were stacked on top of each other in the shape of a huge pyramid.
each room had two exits which gave you the freedom to choose your path to the pyramid's apex. There was a set amount of (very weird) enemies in each room which had to be dispatched before you ascended to the next level of the pyramid.

I'm not sure but It may have come free with the "Commodore Format" magazine.
myself and my brother played the SH!T out of it back in the day.
