Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Fuji Bridge Cameras have a very good reputation. Have a look at some of them.

    Thanks guys.

For some reason Canon and Nikon seem like what I should be going for.
    I'd a Fuji FinePix s5600 for a while but it's dying now.

I'd also like something that actually takes a photo when I press the button.
It'd take my old Fuji a second or two to react sometimes.
    Very frustrating.

The camera you mention in OP has the same shutter lag.

I have a Canon S3 IS which was the SX20s predecessor about 2-3 years ago. Canon bridge cameras are perfectly good. According to most review sites it's a toss up between the Canon SX20 and the Panasonic Lumix FZ38 for best in class right now. To be honest though I'd be more inclined to look at a travel zoom these days, they significantly more compact and can do pretty much everything a bridge can other than mount an external speedlite. Have you considered the Canon SX200IS or the Panasonic TZ7?

I have th FZ28, earlier model of the 38. Like it a lot, very good all round. Look at cameralabs.co.uk review of it and the canon.
I checked both out when buying and very little between them.
Hold both in your hands and see which you're happier with.
Fujian have a new bridge camera; 200 exr or something like that, meant to be very good too. Feels more like a dslr; heavier, zoom by twisting lens.

As I said very happy with mine, excellent macro; 1cm, good zoom etc.
Not quickest or best in low light but you can't have everything.
    Good luck anyway.
