Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT on it and have noticed twice now that the wireless signal has turned on and the admin password and username has been reset or maybe tampered with. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the router or do I have a neighbour trying to hack into my broadband. I never leave the wireless on when its not being used and I don't broadcast the SSID so dont know if it's possible. If it is the router acting up is there anyway to fix it,thanks.

There was a known flaw in DD-WRT prior to release 24-Sp2, but that's an unlikely culprit. Turning off SSID broadcast doesn't stop your router and SSID being discovered. And also note that the DD-WRT interface is a bit picky about you hitting save on every page before hitting the apply settings option.

I only have 24-Sp1, would it be worth upgrading to Sp2. Do I just click upgrade under the Administration tab to do this. So you reckon someone is hacking my connection then? Any idea how I can prevent this?

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/content/dd-wrt-httpd-vulnerability-milw0rmcom-report

That's the article on the vulnerability and the minimum needed version to fix it. Unless you've used obvious or default passwords it's unlikely that anyone is messing with the router settings.

I'd be very surprised if anyone could guess the password, have a hard time remembering it half the time myself. Thanks for the link I'll give it a bash and see if it fixes things.

I have a WRT54 G with wireless enabled and MAC filtering enabled, running the latest firmware. about every three months it goes back to the factory settings i.e. default IP and username + password and open wifi access, very annoying!

Aside from the fault listed above, I'd follow that advice.

    Use the MAC filtering.

I leave my wireless unsecured for my own amusement. I like to see who connects to it. Then I mess arond with them. :)
I'm safe enough because I don't do any banking or purchasing on-line. I just like screwing around with people robbing my wifi.

Most security is hackable if you know what you're doing. Restricting the MAC address is your best bet.

Not 100% secure, but it does make it more difficult for hackers.

Id say that's probably my problem too, it seem such a bad flaw for such a highly regarded piece of software. Thanks for all your help guys.
