    Hey all,

Quick question, gonna start looking at cars there soon, and will prob get one properly checked out when i find one that fits the bill. I've a decent enough knowledge, but would still like to get it checked out properly. So, this one seems pretty good, just wondering does anyone out there have any experience of dealing with them and their quality of work.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi rob,

I presume your in dublin? I used a mechanic there a few weeks back for a pre-purchase inspection he charges €60 for a check in dublin area but its worth the money as he pointed out a few minor "flaws" which i then used to haggle the price down so the €60 was well worth it. very nice guy.

pm me if you want his details.

You'll probably get it done cheaper but their price is reasonable enough. If it was me I'd always bring someone i know and trust to do it

Ya, thats the problem, dont know many people who would be any more confident with cars than me. I can service cars and stuff, but would rather it was put up on a ramp to check the under carriage etc. Thats why this place seems to be decent, price isnt too bad when you consider that.

zziplex, did he just come along and check the car with you?

He met me at the sellers home and did a detailed scan was there for approx half a hour. He drove the car and did all sorts of tests and bits and bobs. I know its better to get the car onto a ramp and give it a good going over but alot of sellers will not be too pleased with the idea of it.

All I can say is it was worth the money and all is going great with my new purchase(touch wood) :)
