on the berbs issue - it could be that he is being left out due to injury. He has been nursing a knee injury (think it is knee) for a while now - few months, before the last international break anywho. It could be that today it simply isn't right for him to play.

So Utd are going to play with one striker and Birmingham are more than likely going to play two up front.

Mitch is disheartened, the Omen's are good.
money going on utd as we speak :D

or after his recent performances he could be dropped

I dont agree with it myself because Rooney isnt the best at the lone striker role
    but it wouldnt surprise me

    PIG
    Raf
    Evra
    Evans
    Brown
    Carrick
    Scholes
    Fletcher
    Park
    Valencia
    Rooney

    Amos
    Neville
    Owen
    Anderson
    Giggs
    Fabio
    Diouf

Not happy with this. 1 up front is bad enough, but Park being on the left annoys me just as much. Useless player in the final third. Can see Valencia having a poor one today - not going to have anyone to find in the box I feel.

    not bloody park starting

    Yarp.

1 up front, with Park in the team, against one of the meanest defences in the premiership.

This is going to be a loooooooooooooooong 90 minutes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

Obertan doesn't make the bench and no Welbeck either. Berb is obviously injured if he's not on the bench.

Bloody Park - he's been terrible this season - I know he was injured but still :(

Poor enough defence. Average/poor midfield. Only 1 striker who doesnt score goals. Think we will lose this:(

I'm hoping we can keep this at 0-0 now and praying to sneak a goal. I think Fergies tactics are wrong yet again and not for the first time this season.

Acc to BBC Giggs is in the team??

At least Fletcher is back in midfield, so we'll see a much stronger side than we have in quite a while.

    pig
    raf
    wes
    evans
    evra
    valencia
    fletch---carrick---park
    scholes

    Park to get both.:D

    Have some faith lads ffs.

If they lose you can whine all you want about the team but let them play first.

Who is going to create anything for Rooney? I can see him getting v frustrated and dropping very deep to get a touch of the ball, leaving nobody up front

what we have Diouf, next big thing around

we even have a song about him

Well you can tell by the way he use his walk
He’s a born scorer no time to talk
Just pass and he will score
He’s been scoring goals since he was born
And now its all right, its ok
Don’t dare look the other way
    We can try to understand
If the reds are big enough for such man
    Whether you’re a brother
    Or whether you’re a mother
Just watch Mame Diouf, Mame Diouf
    Feel the city breaking
    And everybody shaking
We watch Mame Diouf, Mame Diouf
    Goal, Goal, Goal, Goal
    Mame Diouf Mame Diouf

Scholes with athrough ball, Scholes with a long pass wide to Valencia to cross into Rooney. Scholes to play a one two with Rooney before scoring a 25 yarder!

Oh and Scholes will create Parks two goals of course.:)

Valencia will create at least once change I'd say, especially with Scholes and Carrick playing balls out to him. Lets hope Rooney or Fletcher can put it away.

    Fergie just on ESPN

    RE. DIOUF

In the squad so he can make a decision on him in the next two weeks and whether to include him in the 25 player squad for Europe.

Must have impressed Fergie anyway .

For the amount of crosses we put in the box, a decent header of the ball could make a big impression even if he's only an average striker.
