2009 Wifi Modem v. 2002 PC

Folks,
I have a 2002 Dell with only USB ports, connected (blue cable) to a Netopia 2003 non Wifi modem. I just got a new 2009 Wifi modem with only an ethernet cable (yellow) for connecting.
How do I connect the new ethernet cable into my PC ? Any 'connector' out there ?
Reason : I want to continue to have modem connected to PC (non Wifi enabled) physically and then use a Wifi enabled laptop around the house.

Presumably you'll need to install an ethernet card, or else install a wireless card. No other way around it I think.

I have used that type of device before.
It will work but as far as I remember it was slow.

However i advise to spend a little more and get a new network card. Any pull on the network cable will pull the usb device out. Network cables clip into network cards and will not pull out, and you should find you get better performance. Good luck.
