    Hi
A neighbour has told me that the water supply will be cut off tonight at 7pm. I live in the Ballinacurra area. Can't seem to find anything on 95fm about it.
    Has anyone heard about this?

    cheers

this is all I can find:

Announcement of Reduced Water Pressures in Limerick City

    Wednesday January 6th, 2010

Limerick City Council wish to advise all water consumers that it is aware that some properties are still experiencing low water pressures or in some cases full interruption to supply.

This is as a result of the current severe cold weather. Some service pipes are still frozen and may have to await a rise in temperatures before resumption of normal supply. This is compounded in some areas by consumers constantly running taps during the frosty conditions.

Consumers are requested to check for burst pipes, running taps and generally to conserve water as much as possible to allow all to enjoy adequate water pressures. Residents are also requested to consider and check on their vulnerable neighbours during this difficult time.

Limerick City Council regrets any inconvenience caused to residents and traders during these low pressures and will endeavour to reinstate the water pressures as soon as is reasonably possible with the assistance of all consumers.

Is there any source where this can be verified? My parents live in the Ballinacurra area and have had no water for 4 days and I have been going over and helping them get water from a neighbour of their's.

The top guy in charge of water services in Limerick City & Council was on the radio today around lunchtime affirming that there are no planned disruptions to the water supply, and the situation was improving. Perhaps it has changed since then, but that is what he was stating at the time.

I know of people who have been taking the whole family to the local swimming pool for a wash. I presume they swim and then wash in the shower rather than lathering up in the hotel pool.

i hear from my uncle that there was talk of water collection points for the people affected. can anyone confirm this or does anyone have info on where these points are?

There was another thread earlier that included this link about water collection points: http://www.live95fm.ie/news/news-item/schedule-of-hydrant-operation-locations-and-times/8b2057cf-ebb8-432b-9fcd-aa5084aade3b

Thanks for the help but no good to me- he works in oil so baby wipes aren't gonna cut it and I already rang around all the gyms. Started ringing friends and relatives to see who's got running water and doesn't care too much about their bath.:D

thats all the pools in Limerick as far as i know. st endas would prob be the cheapest option if they are open. you might get lucky and somewhere could be running. maybe the hotels are the best bet.
