yeah, the west is the best in these situations, the 'warmish' wind blowing from the irish sea cools down as it goes inland. Here there is a massive thaw with a gusty easterly wind. The Irish sea can be our best friend (see showers last night) as well as our downfall (warmer air)

Just said on rte radio forecast 'scattered snow showers'
shower of f*ckers in met eireann, they tease us with all this ****e about the end of the world, and the closer it gets the more they start the "ah well maybe it wont happen". Then we have weeks of bad weather and just when the muppets in the government start getting their **** together the weather ends. So fecken typical.
Having said that it is snowing lightly in East Cork so I might have to take it all back0 -

I'm obviously near both of you as it's also snowing here,But only very very lightly...I'll be patient though
Yeah, you're not too far down the road from me Ricky (we've had a brief discussion about photography before and Rally of the Lakes etc...)
Have the thermometer outside and its slowly dropping from +13deg and is currently at +2.9deg and falling.

Currently 3.4C in Maynooth, something of a thaw underway. With any luck, we'll get water back before it freezes again - although not entirely sure if it's frozen , or cut off by the council.
A lot of snow last night, though - 5cm on an area I cleared yesterday. And we built a fine bearded snowman.
I've now had all the necessities of a snowy spell, so not too bothered if it snows more or not, but I suspect we're going to get more anyway. I'm slightly puzzled that points north and south of here are reporting snow, but looking at the satellite images, we seem to be sitting between two streams. Presumably one or other will shift a bit at some stage.0 -
