Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DVD recorder is dying

    Hi,

My Toshiba Recorder had died on me (the hard drive anyway, DVD recorder isn't far behind) and it is the second Toshiba recorder to do so to do so.

I do not know if I want that brand again, but it had some nice features and I do need to replace it.

A good feature was that you could create your own menu using a still image captured from a recording.
A bad feature was that it had a default setting of recording in 16:9 to a DVD, which means that if I was recording, say an old movie that was transmitted in 4:3, the picture would get stretched to 16:9. I'd have to record to the HDD, which recorded video in whatever aspect ratio it was transmitted in, first, change some settings and then dub it to a DVD. Time consuming.

So I'm looking for a low price good quality DVD recorder (HDD is not essential but an advantage) that will record straight to DVD in whatever aspect ratio is transmitted without the need for adjusting settings.

    Cheers
