Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Using Netopia Router for wireless LAN

Hi all. I have a leftover eircom netopia router at home. My brother uses a microwave internet provider, where the cable comes from the dish, to a power supply, to an ethernet cable, which happily plugs into his laptop.
I am trying without any luck to get the two to work. I realise that the eircom router is configured for just DSL, but is there a way to instruct the router to look for an internet connection through one of the ethernet ports instead? It'd save having to buy a new wireless router.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think so, as the ADSL port is setup as WAN, simple ethernet wan broadband routers are relatively cheap.

I am able to change the configuration from DSL to WAN/LAN simply. It's after that, that I arrive at issues.

If I can enable the router for WAN, can someone point me in the right direction as to what to look out for so I can get this running correctly? Thanks

You can setup the router to be a wireless access point by turning off DHCP server, but you will not be able to plug in the Microwave Cable and share you will need to by a Cable Router for this.
