It happens every where, the whole multicultural experiment is not the greatest success story, im workinkg in construction in cork, the racism against all foreigners is as bad as anywhere ive lived and worked, although in saying that a aussie redneck wearing a faded old "wife beater" is a bit more upfront about it than most.

There is racism everywhere. I wouldn't say that Australia was anymore racist than Ireland. Just take a look at Irish people's attitude to the "invasion" of Eastern Europeans and how they get treated in Ireland. This bad attitude towards the Irish seems to be more of a Sydney problem than an Australia wide thing. I'm in Perth and have never had much hassle over being Irish here.

These attacks on Indians are abominable.

Who in their right mind could attack someone and set them on fire-racist or non-racist?

By the way, if your country is sick of foreigners, just stop giving them visas to prevent them entering!

The only "evidence" presented in that article was one anecdotal story of a cop who wouldn't sign a form. How can that be interpreted as a backlash against the Irish? The Indo is an absolute rag of a paper, not surprised that you read it tbh.
