Barry McGill : Deep Wreck Exploration & Photography off the north coast of Ireland
    8pm Wed 3rd Feb
Davis Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin
    Free admission - all welcome.

Barry took up diving in 2001 when he was 17. He developed a love for wreck diving while in University and gained his first experience in deep wrecks during this time while diving with NUIG/GMIT SAC. He completed his Inspiration rebreather course in 2005 to help him further develop his wreck diving capabilities. After completing his degree in Civil Engineering he became an Engineer-Diver. He is currently undertaking a course to become a technical diving instructor with IANTD.

Barry has always been drawn to the deep wrecks off the north coast of Ireland since he discovered the deep wreck photographs of Leigh Bishop. He has been a member of many Irish expeditions around the coasts of Ireland. He has explored and photographed many deep wrecks including HMS Audacious (-64 m) RMS Lusitania (-92 m), HMS D6 (-92 m), SS Flavia (-105 m), Carinthia (-115 m) HMS Curacoa (-125 m) and SS Translyvania (-131 m). Barry was a member of the Deep Wreck Mysteries film crew, which documented and filmed the HMS Curacao, HMS Audacious and SS Manchester Commerce in 2008 for the History Channel. Barry’s main aims are to document and photography deep shipwrecks off the North Coast of Ireland and to bring back the images to allow others to appreciate the rich maritime history that lies just off our coasts.

Don't forget about Barry's presentation this evening. If you're coming in the Nassau St/Dawson St side entrance to Trinity College - just take the first building entrance on your right.

Davis Theatre is the last theatre on the right hand side inside the building.

    Show starts at 8pm sharp

If anyone is driving in then I reckon your best bet is Setanta Car Park just off Molesworth Street: http://www.dublinks.com/maps/Setanta-Car-Park

    Hope to see you there.
