    Hello there,

I would like to get some advice.
For the sake of easiness I'll use a hypothetical situation.

If there was a construction company called Thompson & Fallon, they've been using a website URL of thompsonfallon.com as its easier to remember and not as long as thompsonfallonconstruction.com , would it be practical / justifiable to buy the thompsonfallonconstruction.com and use a redirect to the original website (thompsonfallon.com)?
What is the likelihood of a penalty being encurred from a search engine?
The goal of the change to the URL being an improved pagerank on search engines.

    Thanks for reading.

If you use a 301 redirect from extradomain > maindomain you shouldn't have any issues.

blacknight.com has a number of domains pointing at it, but you only ever see the .com

Adding an extra domain won't help you with search engines, but it *might* help you with type in traffic ..
