    Hey all...

    Just wondring ,,,as a country man,,, what might be the best bus route to take from Maynooth to St. James' Hospital, Mount Brown in the city centre? Not too familiar with busses just yet..need some expert advice.

    Thanks for your help!

    You'll have to change busses. Not sure of the busses from Maynooth to City Centre but get the first to An Lar/City Centre.
    Then take either the 78A from Aston quay - 7 or 8 stops; about 10 minutes. Ask the dirver to give you a shout.
    Or, the 123 from D'Ollier St or Dame St will take you directly to St. James' hosp;

    That or you could take the train to Connolly and then the LUAS straight into the grounds of St. James Hospital.

    It doesn't anymore!! Luas from Connolly only goes as far as Heuston Station. However, you merely need to cross the road to the Busaras Luas stop (about 2 mins away) where you can get a Luas direct to St.James' Hospital.

    You will save yourself some time and messing if you get off the Maynooth buses (66's 67's) near Heuston Station instead of continuing on into town.
    Ask the driver to let you off at the Heuston Station/Ashling Hotel Bus stop. It's just past the main entrance to the Phoenix Park.
    Cross over the bridge and pick up the luas just outside Heuston Station (heading toward Tallaght).
    James Hospital is only ONE luas stop from Heuston so it will save you time It's about a 15 min walk!

    If you ever have to do that journey again... if you get off the 66 at Liffey Valley and walk over the footbridge to the shopping centre, the 78a leaves from outside it, it'll take you directly to James Strreet. Just if...might help you in future :)

    I didn't know this - are only the trams from the Point doing the full journey now? But I presume you could just wait on the platform at Hueston for the next Luas that is going to Tallaght and go the one extra stop to the hospital?

    Very handy if you have the car but it's much quicker to stay on the 66 as far as Heuston station and get the luas.
    By the time you have got off the 66 at Liffy valley. walked throught the shopping centre,got on the 78a, meandered around the housing estates in Clondalkin, then down through Ballier,Inchicore you would have been well at heuston Station.
