Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

has anyone had experience with connecting up a xbox 360 controller to a pc, i have two so i thought id try it out. ive tried the charging cable which got me to download the driver but that thats all it does. theres something about old and new pads, new one can also work on pc with a wireless device but i dont know which one i have, or theres getting a controller and reciever pack which would be more expensive

SPOILER TAGS ON BIG PICS PLEASE!

@Mac_79: I assume you are using a wireless controller. In that case, you need to buy the €30 USB receiver from Microsoft -- available in GAME, Gamestop and other retailers.

The grey charging cable is, unfortunately, just a charging cable. It doesn't carry any information so isn't any help when trying to get your PC to recognise the wifi signal from your controller. The drivers are also of no help because the problem is getting the signal to your PC in the first place.

I bought the wireless pack for Christmas and it works like a charm. :)

you should be able to get it from ebay.

you can get yourself the wired xbox controller, it has a usb cable instead of a wireless interface, it does not need charging as it draws power from the usb port, they're cheaper but harder to come by.

one downside however is the quality of the cable is pretty poor, my controller has many nics and cuts on the cable. this causes the controller to disconnect/reconnect randomly which can cause games to crash and will generally drive you nuts. I'm sure if you're careful with it you'll be fine.
I don't know but play.com may have them in stock.

I bought this, Its great. You can connect multiple wireless controllers with it too.

iirc Harvey Normans were doing a good deal on a wireless controller and the wireless dongle.

    or get it here:
