Very happy to see the rain turing to snow for some people. :D
Though I think it will turn back to rain again later today.

Still raining away here in Waterford, windy but not stormy. Winds should be starting to slowly ease in the southwest at this stage.

Hi, supposed to be traveling to Kilkenny in the next few days from Dublin, just wondering what the forecast is like and what day would be best to travel down on if any?

    Cheers

Proper 'wet' snow now, driving along in a near gale wind. Still not settling. If it starts too, we could be looking at a serious fall here with drifts. Its a big 'if' though given our 'snow' luck this year so far....

yes that's the pity. the ground is too wet fot it to stick

Wednesday/Thursday would be best as more wind and rain is possible Friday.

This is what i am getting at the moment.

Snow in Clare this morning. Dies a death over Galway with just light rain or brief hail spurts. Moves up to Roscommon and Mayo and turns to snow again.

I am not paranoid, but this smacks of injustice! :pac:

It will if its heavy enough, this event reminds me of April 1981, when I was on holiday in England as a lad, it started as sleety rain, in a blowy wind and then wet snow. No one was concerned, they said it was too wet to hold. By midnight that night we were under about 8 inches of snow....and it was nearly May!
Weather will always surprise, and as Nacho says the surprise events are the best. This isn't a total surprise, it was kind of flagged by the usual sources, it is just a question of whether it will last or turn back to rain....
