Just bear in mind, contrary to the Met E forecast on the web, the Eagle on the radio this morning said (a couple of times) sleet and snow across the 'middle of the country' - no specific locations - just the 'middle of the country'. G'wan the Eagle. :)

    3.6c DP 0.8c.

Still holding out for 'sneaky snow' here!

What's our chances here DOC? Going to be very borderline whatever happens :)

What are the chances though? It must be moving north north east now at a steady rate, can't be too much left, or is it going to stall somewhat aginst the colder block?

Heaviest snow we've had so far here in South Kilkenny, complete blizzard and is sticking. If it keeps up Ill hopefully get another couple of days off school. When is this band of precipitation meant to finish?

And the precip isn't going to run out anytime soon...

    4pm :

    3hour.asp

Question is, will it continue to fall as snow where it is snowing or will it turn to rain?

Whats the story with temps with everyone, are your dewpoints subzero prior to precipitation?

    Its getting interesting for parts.

Snow is falling to low levels in Cornwall coast too.

I sent a message to Met Eireann letting them know parts of the country are suffering from blizzards right now and their warning is not adequate.

I asked how much snow should we expect.....

Considering how wrong they were so far they're hardly likely to be right now ;)

Much in the north of the county now??? Blizzard here, its wet snow but kinda sticking . ..:D

yes i mean what i'm experiencing is what you'd normally only expect to see high up. so i can only imagine what it's like at your height.
if this keeps going there will be several inches of snow where you are.

Absolutely borderline. I think it will start as rain, but this should bring down temps and we should see heavy sleet at least, if not wet snow. If wet snow, sticking? Who knows.

Even though temp is 3.6c, DP is 0.8c (not too bad but will hopefully go down with temp once ppn arrives).

The other benfit here is that if the wind goes back to SE (NE here atm), the wind comes over the Dublin Mountains which will help modify the air (a little).

that would be the hope, yes. according to yr no the precipitation should last into the evening.
