    Just heavy rain in Greystones.

Yeah, there was heavy snow in Glen of the downs and it was sticking loads. Just round the corner in Greystones, we get rain

The drive home was amazing, it was cool watching millions of flakes flying towards my windscreen.

Presume if it continues it will stick as the roads freeze overnight.

Whats this talk of accumlations and blizzards tonight on met.ie?

met eireann are playing catch up, as it has been snowing heavily all day in some parts. here it was a white out for a couple of hours due to the very strong wind. i don't think i've ever seen it snow as heavy - or indeed it snow with such strong wind blowing- in fact it was stormy at times. it was what you'd expect to see up a mountain.
an absolutely incredible day for a snow fan.

    4pm cancelled scouts

Hi ,Weather noob here taken in by all this drama...can anyone explain why there appears to be a faint but discernible compass circle drawn as if Shannon were at its centre and going through Mayo and the south coast on these maps...?Anyone else at least see this?

i'd say there is a good chance as the snow and wind will be well gone by then. it'll just be cloudy with the odd rain shower tomorrow in connacht.

Then my worry is whats happening at Stansted. There seems to be a nasty Low forming above france and moving NE into SE England!

Still snowing, if more lightly, here. Sticking, but also melting at the same time. 0.8c. Windspeed at a stable 13mph.
