OP is a sad case and needed to announce it to the world. O/j :D

But really you are, ever heard or seen the ignore button, I click it so many times, such a button :)

Also that girls thing is a childish thing they came up with to see how dirty the guys who replied to it is, oh and on that note let's face it, most guys are complete retards when it comes to facebook flirting or whitty comments to girls, pure cringe material imo.

First it was MySpace, then Bebo and then Facebook.

It won't be long 'til people decide "feck this" and abandon the lot of them in favour of meeting up with friends again.

I dont get the whole social networking thing as a craze...

yea, its nice to have contact, but how people spend hours on it bewilders me.

I have an account but most of my "friends" are people i trade with it India or Pakistan.

Is amazing what you can get for an €80 digital decoder, to decode the cricket.

    If only Gary had known

you can put all the annoying people/apps on ignore if you want btw.

now, now as we all know instead of using the features that are there to get around stuff that you might not like, the correct and adult way to deal with this is to start a thread on another forum entirely and have a temper tantrum.

The only website I know with a dislike button is YouTube and it's like a constant troll war over there. So yes I'm glad Facebook doesn't have it.

    News just in:

    Mark Zuckerberg distraught.

    Speedboatchase begged to reconsider.

Immediate future of Facebook said to be in doubt.

Any chance someone else was on your profile (friend/family member etc.)? Either through guessing your password or else you never logged out?
Just a suggestion, as it seems unusual otherwise.

Nope, no chance of that at all. Actually just heard from 2 other people I know that it has been happening to them also. Friends of their friends have been added to their list without actually being requested.

Great. FB is falling apart already.

It'll go down the trolls-and-spam path of Bebo yet. .

I remember sitting watching the telly a couple of years ago when my flatmate came in and sat down and said really gravely 'I have something to tell you'.

She then went on to tell me that a mutual friend of ours was leaving Facebook and I swear to god the way she was talking it was like she was telling me had cancer. I was sort of speechless so I just said 'eh ok' but I really wanted laugh out loud but was afraid in case I missed something important.

Anyway I logged on to my account a couple of hours to see a message from the mutual friend detailing why he was leaving and asking that people respect his decision. It was so weird but since then I have had a couple of more emails from people on the same thing and I just don't understand what the big deal is.

Its a social networking tool and I will be honest I would hardly notice if friends left it but yet so many people make a big annoucement about it.

I use facebook, am not a huge fan of it etc. but it does keep me in touch with people who I wouldn't otherwise be in touch with....

    However:
    * girls writing "ON TOP" or "Black" as their status msg, it's f**king stupid and not funny!

This is actually a movement in support of breast cancer awareness, not a stupid "hilarious" fad.

Meh.... I just posted this in my status box to piss them off....

URGENT! Facebook virus alert. An email recently went out to women asking them to post the colour of their bra. THIS IS A VIRUS. To fix it you must remove your bra, then go to Settings>Enable webcam>Record movie. Please repost to your status!

Oh and I also joined the group "Women, stop posting colours as your statuses and get back in the kitchen." too!!!

And YES I am aware why they were posting it and fully support the cause ok!!

No it isn't, if you ask someone what it's about they they go "heheh, can't tell you" - pretty much the opposite to spreading awareness. Maybe that was the stated intention but if another fad pops up the next day about how you wear your hair (which it has) it's clear it's just an irritating viral status game

oh random adds- maybe linked to mafia wars/ farmville etc. to get your numbers up for a gam, not for your friend list.

I asked and got told. Then again, I try to stay away from the titterers.

    Assuming...
-> that women have been forwarding on messages so that they know why they're typing the colour
-> then it is raising awareness among their group (which makes up half the population) with the "game" that this is a secret than none of the menfolk know. Of course men get breast cancer too but as they wear bras rather less often it's harder to get them to play.
    faceman wrote: »

This is totally true. While I've obviously seen those plonkers who go out or to a concert and spend the entire evening looking through a camera, I gather that some of these people rush home and instantly place these "pics of the night out, wah" up on the Internet for everyone to marvel at. They will hopefully never breed but unfortunately I suspect they will. Profusely.

I like facebook. It amuses me. But as I said above, I try to avoid the titterers.

Maybe because it's usually women who get breast cancer, therefore should be more aware of it then men but it's still considered a sensitive topic to some women so men aren't to know the reason as it doesn't effect them as much.

And anyway, it's only a bit of fun!:D

I have to agree with some of the OP stuff but I find Facebook handy for keeping in touch. To be honest if there was another tool as popular without the massive privacy issues I would be jumping ship to it. Facebook is and always will be a corperation out there to make money and if its our privacy that has to suffer to make then so be it from their point of view.

Although I did just get an invite for Rage against the machine for Champions League which made me laugh.
