Beaten. Didn't see the race just watched the betting on Betfair. Must of been going well at one stage but lost. Going through a bad spell again.

No Murtagh held him too far off the pace, after 5f he was 6 lenghts back. Don't know what Murtagh was doing really he clearly had to stay with the frontrunners and then kick, picked up well 2f out but don't think Murtagh even used the whip on him and left him with too much to do frankly, 2nd by around 4l

Cheers Denners, One for next time hopefully. That horse should of been winning that race imo.

Denners think you should watch the race again on the at the races thread. The three fancied horses sat off the front runner who was going too fast and as expected faded 2 furlongs out(although he did stay on for 3rd so watch him back in handicaps). The eventual winner was one of the first to receive a reminder and he ran on well to win smoothly in the end. The winner had run in one of the best maidens last year and did well in that before winning his maiden. He is a better horse than Encompassing who is just one paced and probably could do with 10 furlongs.

    New Bank - 143.79pts (+43.79pts)

Having a nice few bets at the course I'm most successful at. Leaving the others alone.

    NAP - 2:10 Wolverhampton - Heathyards Pride - 3.79 pts

C&D specialist, Won 6 times over C&D. Made a come back in March after 14 months off the track and didn't perform well over an unsuitable trip. Should come on for that run and the 2f shorter here will suit. One of the better amateur claimers on board, And if this was a handicap he'd be around 10lbs higher than most of these opponents instead of being 14lbs lower than the top weight. Should have a good chance if returning to his usual Wolves performance levels.

    3:10 Wolverhampton - Albero Di Giuda - .5pts e/w @ 20/1

Usually runs well around here, Won over C&D twice in the winter. Good jockey and could have a small chance. 20/1 on BF at the moment. Worth a few quid for me.

    3:40 Wolverhampton - Dimaire - 1pt @ 8/1

Expected this one to win by now, Has been in the frame on every start. Drop in trip will suit, Good jockey and seems overpriced to me. Small bet for me.

    NB - 4:10 Wolverhampton - Kheley - 1pt @ 6/1

Ran very well LTO over a furlong extra on Turf, Back on the AW on a 7lb lower mark and has won here twice before. If replicating her last run I'd expect it has a serious chance. Good 5lb claimer too.

You proved my point exactly. Encompassing is not a beast of a horse who can take off in the last 2f and romp home. I have seen 4 of his races and it is obvious that he needs to be kept on the pace and then driven for home. I wasn't suggesting that Murtagh should have led from the front, but at the very least he should have kept him right beside the 2nd placed horse and eventual winner. Johnny greatly underestimated the winner also, he never got closer than 2-3l of him and when he was 3f out and the winner upped the pace Murtagh still had Encompassing tight on the reins. Then when he started to push him he made a bit of ground but as I said he was never going to make 4 lenghts in 2f as he hasn't got that spurt.

I don't know much about the winner but I have followed Encompassing and I don't feel Murtagh got the best out of him. The winner may well have been a better horse and still won if Encompassing got a proper ride, but if Murtagh stayed on pace with him the whole way round he would have given Encompassing a far better chance. What I lost on him was pitance but I was quite dissappointed that Murtagh rode him the way he did, even more so considering he has had a lot of rides on him. The argument of O'Brien and Murtagh using the track for a stable run comes into question again but thats for another day.

A worthy winner all the same, but there is nothing worse than seeing a horse not ridden to its potential.

Denners will have to agree to disagree on this but lets note now this horse runs next time out and over what trip.

x Pyro you are in need of some winners, fingers crossed for today.

I backed Shintoh yesterday and i think the best horse won!!! After he got a smack, he quickened up really well and Encompassing just wasnt good enough, even if he was up with the pace he wouldnt have stayed with the winner i think..Good luck today PYRO.

    Cheers dude, Hopefully.

Big move on two of mine, Albero Di Giuda is only 8's now and Dimaire is 5/1 from 8/1.

9/2 taken on my Nap. Risky enough Nap though.

Ran an unbelievably quick last 1/2 furlong. Nearly got there. She will win soon, Keep an eye out for it. Came 3rd in the end at a nice price.

Albero Di Guida ran well in the other race i backed in but just faded near the end.

    New Bank - 159 pts (+59pts)

    In Play - 1pt

    Ticking along nicely. :D

Dumbass jockey left her out the back, Ran on well for 4th.

    Good day all in all.

    NAP - 2:20 Brighton - Multahab - 4pts

C&D specialist winning 5 times from 19 attempts at Brighton, On the same mark as previous win. Decent 3lb claimer that has won on him twice from four runs with another run being second with the other being a 4th place run which he performed well in hitting 1.97 in running. Has went ok well in the past, The fast ground should also help. Has a sound draw in stall one, 2 of his 5 wins have been from very low draws.

The trainer Wigham doesn't often visit Brighton and has an exceptional record with 4+ year olds. Winning 9 from 30 races and showing over £40 profit to level £1 stakes.

His other runner, My NB, Yourgolftravel Com is of interest also in the 3:20 at Brighton and was a surprise winner at Brighton last time out, Carried his head awkwardly too and may be able to improve despite the 6lb rise. The fast ground will also suit him. 1pt on him too.

    3:00 Lingfield - Pedasus - 2pts @ 6/1

Ran well LTO, On a winnable mark, Good jockey and should stay the extra distance. I think he has a good chance to win tomorrow.

Last one was horrendous, Pitty I couldn't get online today as I had La Zamora @ 9/1 but wasn't able to get online to post it. Won easily too. :(

    5:00 Yarmouth - Sharp Sovereign - 5pts

Won well last time out making all to win, Up 5lbs which I don't think will be enough to stop him. David Barron is on a hot streak lately and it's his only runner for tomorrow. Great 3lb claimer on board and if getting his own way up front he should have a serious chance tomorrow to follow up. Well drawn to get up to the front and there's not many opponents here that will be able to compete with him in my opinion, Looks a very poor race. This fellow was brutal until he moved to Barrons yard and he had him in tip top shape last time where he won at this course and over this distance, I also Napped him that day. I never normally like backing on of the Barrons horses when they've got a penalty as he rarely seems to get them winning two races in a row but I feel this one can improve alot and the 5lb rise shouldn't stop him. Big bet for me tomorrow, And probably my only one.

I only wanted to put on 3 bets tomorrow but we can squeeze this fella in after he cleaned up last time for me ;). There was around 5 or 6 that took him the last day if I remember so I'm sure he will have another big following tomorrow

Hope to God he doesn't feck up! Wouldn't go mad on him though as the penalty could stop him but if he's an improver I'd doubt it. It's such a weak class 6 race too, Projected to be 4/1, Shouldn't be out of the top 3 if all goes to plan. Don't go mad on him though, I feel bad when people back what I put up and they lose! Fecking Cygnet! :(

If he wins I'm lumping most of it on Canford Cliffs on Saturday. :D

No I won't but he deserves another go after winning last time anyway.
Same jock aswell so he will shoot to the front again hoping everything goes to plan.
I would have been wary of him considering he took that veer to the left that cost him against Dick Turpin two outings ago but he ran on well the last day so he should go well again. I presume the field isn't nearly as strong as last time but I must check it out.

(EDIT) Cygnet was a very rare breed to fall apart so much. I wasn't too caught up over him, I was more upset with losing €40 on Twist Magic at the track at Punchestown tbh

Fingers crossed, He should get the front uncontested in this, Alot of the other potential front runners (Not many of them in the race) are drawn very wide, So the inside draw should give him that, The one worry I would of had was the top weight Iceman George, But he has a 6lb penalty for his win and it wasn't that impressive. Spencers booking on Mystic Touch is interesting but I don't think that horse is impressive at all. The Prescott runner is the dark horse though, Flopped on debut when well backed but came last of 16 when favorite and hasn't been seen since October, May have Cygnet-esque problems!

Sharp Sovereign only needs tiny improvement to over come the penalty in my opinion, Good jockey too and David Barrons horses are on fire, I hope to hell it doesn't lose as I'm having my biggest bet since Cygnet.

Wouldn't be worried about Canfords second to Dick Turpin, That was a training exercise imo. He would of won if it wasn't for drifting plus it was his first race back after a break, Plus Dick Turpin is a class and very underrated horse. CC proved last time out that he stays the one mile and will only come on for it, He WILL be a top class sprinter and looks sound over the middle distances if the English Guineas are anything to go by, This race is easier too imo, He has to have a major chance of winning this. Not many of his competitors have experience over the mile either and if he gets fast-ish ground at least then I'll be having a nice cut at him.

Very disappointed with Cygnet, They paid huge money for her and huge money came for her when we were on also. Didn't get a proper run for our money at all, Similar to the Twist Magic one not running! Cygnet gave us some hope of winning in the race then just faded away, I hate when that happens!

7/2 taken in the local for Sharp Sovereign. Best priced 10/3 with Sporting Bet now.

It's great to see Spencer isn't on Mystic Touch but he's being well backed. 8/1 into 6/1.
